The International Labour Organization is a United Nations agency that aims at improving labour conditions and at the same time, promotes social and economic progress. The International Labour Organization was established in 1919 as part of the Treaty of Versailles that ended World War I. The International Labour Organizaon has been successful in bringing together the government, employers and workers of 187 member states. The International Labour Organization sets international labour standards, promotes rights of the workers and encourages decent employment opportunities for all. An unique triparte structure, it is based on the founding principle that social justice is essenal to universal and lasng peace.
